European Cargo Safety Cards

Check out the minimum requirements for cargo safety cards and find practical templates.

The Standard EUMOS 40674 ensures that the responsibility for cargo securing can be followed via “European Cargo Safety Cards” setting out minimum requirements for its content. The European Cargo Safety Card is a document with precise information on the load and its securing onto the vehicle or the container. With this standard, Eumos creates an easily recognisable checklist for everyone contributing to the logistics chain. The European Cargo Safety Card will be uploaded to an online register with a verification system to avoid falsification and will be readable via a QR code. There will be several security levels to the Cargo Safety Cards with the highest security system relying on the blockchain technology providing integrity, absence of intermediaries, tracking possibilities and a timestamp.

The European Cargo Safety Card aims at facilitating the work of logistics managers to formally communicate to the parties involved in a graphical and precise way. European Cargo Safety Cards are a powerful vehicle for protection in the Chain of Responsibility.

A European Cargo Safety Card according to EUMOS40674 is considered to be a card that meets the minimum requirements defined in the standard. A safety card can contain additional information and can be written in any format as long as it meets the minimum requirements. The templates provided are only intended to be a practical tool to facilitate the work of those responsible for logistics safety.
